Through Year of Discourse and Dialogue events, the University of Pittsburgh is fostering community, collaboration, and conversation around discourse and dialogue. We invite you to consider contributing a proposal to support a Year of Discourse and Dialogue event, project or other activity through the Funding Opportunity.

Spring 2024

February 3rd - 2024 Panther Leadership Summit (PLS)

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, the Panther Leadership Summit (PLS) for graduate and undergraduate students will be held on the University of Pittsburgh main campus. The half-day conference will center around discourse and dialogue through leadership and position student participants to connect with other leaders across campus and in the greater Pittsburgh community.

Student participants will learn about a variety of critical leadership development-based topics and methods through which they can become more dynamic, resilient, and reflective leaders which in turn guides them to make an impact in the community. Undergraduates can earn 50 OCC points in the Leadership category. 
 
Location: William Pitt Union 
Time: 9:15am-1:20pm

February 23 - Researcher Workshop: Generating new knowledge for Discourse and Dialogue

On Friday, February 23, 2024, this workshop will bring together Pitt faculty, doctoral students, and researchers to explore opportunities for collaboration across the wide range of disciplines, methods, and theories that shape the research and creative activity of Pitt’s exceptional range of scholars. Participants will learn from each other and explore ways that they can connect their expertise to build new knowledge about the nature and prospects of discourse and dialogue to bring people and ideas together.
